IHC maintains stay against Abrarul Haq’s appointment as PRCS chief
PRCS chairman's tenure was three years in accordance of rules, says petitioner's lawyer
ISLAMABAD:
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday said stay against appointment of Abrarul Haq as chairman Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) will remain intact and Doctor Saeed Elahi will continue to serve as chairman of the society till December 26.
IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah, hearing the petition challenging the appointment PTI leader Abrarul Haq as PRCS chairman, granted time to the additional attorney general to prepare arguments until December 26. Petitioner Elahi and respondent Haq were present before the bench.
Chief Justice Minallah remarked that appointment was an administration matter, the court would view legal aspects regarding the matter.
The petitioner's lawyer pleaded that PRCS chairman's tenure was three years in accordance of rules.
