Football: West Brom eye Hargreaves
West Brom’s Sporting and Technical Director Dan Ashworth said the club hopes to set up a meeting with the 30-year-old.
LONDON:
West Brom could be ready to take a gamble on injury-plagued former England midfielder Owen Hargreaves who has been released by Premier League champions Manchester United.
West Brom’s Sporting and Technical Director Dan Ashworth said that the club hopes to set up a meeting with the 30-year-old, who has played only 27 games in the past four years due to chronic knee problems.
“We have been in talks with Owen,” he said.
“We might try to meet him next week and see if he would consider coming to us. If Owen is fit to play Premier League football, it’s a no-brainer. He’s a fantastic player.”
