Pakistan are likely to withdraw from the Commonwealth Wrestling Championship due to non-availability of funds.
The Pakistan Wrestling Federation (PWF), which had finalised a nine-member squad for the tournament scheduled to start from August 5 in Melbourne, said that it would be unfortunate since the team was expected to put on a good show. Pakistan team includes Azhar Hussain and Mohammad Inam, who won gold medals at the Commonwealth Games last year. “We finalised a strong squad,” said a PWF official. “But we’re yet to receive the funds or the NOC from the Pakistan Sports Board.
