Malik orders probe into Amir Shah's murder
Joint investigation team headed by DIG police Sindh to submit report to Interior Ministry.
Interior Minister Rehman Malik ordered a joint investigation commission to be formed to probe the murder of president of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) PIA employee union Amir Shah on Sunday, Express 24/7 reported.
According to the notification issued by the Interior Ministry, the committee headed by DIG police Sindh has to submit findings within three days, however, it also said that the deadline could be extended if needed.
Federal Investigative Agency (FIA) officials were also directed to work with the investigation team.
Shah, who worked as former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto’s security guard in 2007, was killed in the Gulistan-e-Jauhar area of Karachi when unknown assailants opened fire on his car on Saturday evening.
PIA employees protested against the murder on Sunday and abandoned Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad airports, which resulted in the delay of several local and international flights.
