Human Rights Day: President Alvi, PM Imran reaffirm all-out support to Kashmiris
Call international community to play an active role in resolving the Kashmir dispute; Black Day observed in IoK

To mark the World Human Rights Day, Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday urged the international community to end the gross human rights violation by Indian armed forces in occupied Kashmir.
The premier took to social media to condemn the Modi-led government's siege of Indian Occupied Kashmir that has been ongoing for over four months.
"On Human Rights day we must appeal to the world's conscience, to upholders of international law and to the UNSC to act against the illegal annexation of IOJK by the Indian occupation govt."
The premier demanded for putting an end to the abuse faced by Kashmiri men, women and children and reiterated his support for the "brave Kashmiri's struggling for their right of self-determination".

The premier also reminded Muslims of the message of equality, justice and protection of the human rights for all by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
He also stated that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government inspired by the teachings of the Prophet, is committed to protecting the human rights of all its citizens.
On international Human Rights Day Muslims need to remember that the message of equality, justice & protection of human rights for all was given more than 1400 yrs ago by our Prophet PBUH. This embodied the cardinal principles of respect for human rights & human dignity.
Inspired by the ideals preached by our Prophet PBUH, especially in his last sermon, and duties enshrined in our Constitution, my govt is committed to the protection of human rights for all its citizens without discrimination.
In his messages on the Human Rights Day, President Dr Arif Alvi reaffirmed Pakistan's abiding political, diplomatic and moral support to the Kashmiri people in their just struggle for the right to self-determination.
The president expressed serious concerns over the military lockdown, curfew and suppression of basic human rights of more than 80 million Kashmiris in occupied Kashmir.
Dr Alvi also urged the international community to come forward and play its role in the protection of human rights of the people of Indian occupied Kashmir and their right to self-determination in accordance with the UNSC resolutions.
He reiterated Pakistan's commitment to support the oppressed Kashmiri people.
“Pakistan stands committed to protect and promote human rights and will continue making efforts to safeguard freedom, liberty, dignity and self-esteem of every citizen of the state,” the president stated.
Meanwhile, Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and worldwide are observing World Human Rights Day as Black Day to draw the attention of the international community towards the worsening human rights situation in occupied Kashmir.
The day is marked with a complete shutdown in occupied Kashmir to condemn the blatant human rights violations by India.
Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Gilani, in a statement, said that the responsibility of the international community has increased manifold owing to the growing repression against the Kashmiri people by Indian rulers. He urged the international community to play an active and effective role in settlement of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions.
Minister for Human Rights Dr Shireen Mazari also took to microblogging site Twitter and said that the PTI government will protect the rights of the citizens of Pakistan, as envisioned by the founder, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
She also condemned the violation by Indian occupying forces that use rape as a weapon of war, as well as pellet guns against innocent Kashmiris.
The human rights minister urged the international community to fulfill the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) commitment and allow Kashmiris the right to self-determination.
