ISLAMABAD:
The government had itself exonerated an aide of deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif leaving the court with little option but to dispose of the case while the applicant reserves the right to take legal action against respondents in the case.

This was directed by a single-member bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC), comprising Justice Amir Farooq, which issued the detailed verdict in a bail petition filed by Irfan Siddiqui over his arrest by the Islamabad Police for allegedly violating the tenancy law.

The detailed verdict stated that officials representing the government had exonerated Siddiqui of the offence therefore, the case was being dismissed.

The court further said that the objectives of the petition had been achieved and that no further action of any kind was required. However, it noted that the applicant reserves the right to take legal action against the respondents in the case.
