The chief military spokesperson has refuted a story published in English-language daily Dawn on Pak-Iran joint border patrolling, terming it “factually incorrect”.

Reacting to the story titled “Pak-Iran Forces jointly conduct border patrolling” in Dawn on Monday, Major General Asif Ghafoor said there was no joint patrolling anywhere on Pakistani borders.

“Patrolling/operations if required are always on respective sides by respective forces through coordination,” the DG ISPR tweeted.

The newspaper’s editor, Zafar Abbas, said the confusion was caused by a photo caption circulated by APP, the official news agency, and the paper will be carrying a correction.
