Heavy machinery for sanitation lies idle
Sources claimed that costly parts of these machines have either been stolen or removed
LARKANA:
Heavy machinery for cleaning purposes, given to the Larkana Municipal Corporation (LMC) by the Sindh government, has been lying idle since long due to the lack of trained drivers and poor maintenance.
The LMC employees, particularly drivers, are allegedly busy in working elsewhere instead of performing their government duties. These costly machines have been parked under the open sky.
Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had also taken notice of the sanitation problems faced by the people of Larkana and had directed the elected representatives of his party to keep the city clean but his instructions are also being ignored.
Sources claimed that costly parts of these machines have either been stolen or removed. Mayor Khair Muhammad Shaikh told the media that seven machines have been out of order, out of which two have been repaired on his instructions.
