MULTAN:
Lack of awareness on the proper use of tractor in the agriculture field is not only affecting agriculture productivity but also minimising the life of the tractor, said Agriculture Mechanization Research Institute (AMRI) Director Ghulam Siddique while talking to APP on Sunday.  “Tractor is the machine of agriculture field only but it is being utilised as means of transport on roads in our country,” he said.

He said that tractors should not be used on roads as it is a vehicle for agriculture purpose. “Mostly tractor operators or drivers do not know how to use tractors properly,” he lamented.

He briefed that the tractor operators are lacking awareness about accurate adjustment of agricultural machinery. “For example, there are two important things in a tractor, position control and draft control. The tractor operators must know the proper adjustment of machines tillage implementation,” said Siddique. He added that in primary tillage implementation, the ploughing is done between 8 to 12 inches.
