Speaking at the opening ceremony of OUP's flagship bookstore at Park Towers, Dada emphasized that a good bookstore was more than just a browsing space and a wonderland of reading pleasure. Meanwhile, OUP Pakistan managing director Arshad Saeed Husain said, "Bookstores are places for people to connect. They're about experiences that bring people together." He added that the unique aspect of the shop was that, as a project of the OUP, it had the knowledge and learning resources of the University of Oxford behind it.
The flagship store, which is OUP's fifth bookshop in the city, features a dedicated children's section, a teachers' resource centre and an 'Experience Zone' for digital and e-learning solutions.
British deputy high commissioner Mike Nithavrianakis was the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony, while Dr Shahid Siddiqui, the Faculty of Social Sciences dean at National University of Modern Languages, delivered the keynote speech.
