NHA working to improve road infrastructure
Official says Rs3b released for construction of Zhob-Kuchlak Road

The National Highway Authority (NHA) has been striving to upgrade and expand the road infrastructure in Balochistan to bring it on a par with other provinces of the country, an official of the NHA told APP on Friday.
“Of the Rs6,000 million allocated for the construction of Zhob-Kuchlak Road under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP), Rs3,000 million have been released,” said the official.
For the construction of two-lane highway from Basima to Khuzdar, he said, “Of the Rs2,000 million allocated for the project under the PSDP, Rs1,000 million have been released so far.”
The total cost of the project would be Rs19,188 million and till June 30, 2019, Rs1,500 million had been spent on the project.
Similarly, he said, of Rs2,000 million allocated for widening and strengthening of about 32-kilometre Rakhi-Gajj Section of N-70 under the PSDP, Rs330 million had been issued so far. The total cost of the project is Rs22,994 million and till June 30, Rs14,914 had been spent.
He said Rs1,000 million had been earmarked for the construction of Yakmach-Kharan Road, of which, Rs500 million had been issued. The total estimated cost of the project is Rs13,758 million, of which, Rs3,406 million had been spent by the end of the previous fiscal year.
He said Rs1,000 million had been set aside for dualisation and improvement of Yarik-Sagu-Zhob section of N-50 CPEC western alignment, of which, Rs500 million had been released. The total cost of the project is Rs76,488 million and Rs2,972 million expenditure had been occurred till June 30.
He said Rs5,000 million had been allocated for construction of 321-kilometre Hoshab-Awaran-Khuzdar section of Ratto Dero- Gawadar Motorway.
