There is no better feeling than being in love. Being in a stable and happy relationship is something everyone yearns for. While the speed at which your relationship progresses is a personal choice, which is dependent primarily on a person’s comfort level, getting caught up in a lovey-dovey honeymoon phase too soon can become a big problem. It's never a good idea to rush anything. When things seems like they are moving too fast, it could be a sign of an underlying issue. Chances are that you're in a relationship for all the wrong reasons and this can take a toll on you eventually.

Hence, it is important to look out for signs that can help you understand whether you’re headed in the right direction. Being swept off your feet is one thing but rushing through a relationship is something completely different. Compiled from Pinkvilla, here are some indicators that new couples (one to six months) should definitely watch out for.

1. Prioritising your partner too soon

You've completely forgotten about your personal life, family and friends, and only spend time with your significant other. This means that you are moving too fast. It is normal if this happens in the initial phase of your relationship but if things don't settle down even after a month, then you know that there's something off.

2. You’re with each other 24/7

If you've nearly moved in with each other within the first few months of your relationship, you’re not giving each other any space and this can later cause major problems between you two. You must understand that it is okay to not be around each other all the time. However, meeting once or twice a week can also be unhealthy for your relationship. Strike a balance!

3. You've already discussed marriage and children

They say when you know, you know! But if you have only been a couple for a month or two and have already started talking about marriage and children, then you should think twice. And if you have even decided the names for your kids, you’re definitely moving on too fast to handle!

4. Your parents have gotten involved

If both your families have already met and you have been spending a lot of time with each other's parents, siblings and cousins, this is another red flag. It can be overwhelming for both of you and your loving relationship might just turn into lots of fights.

5. You're taking financial or personal decisions

You cannot do this until you know each other well enough. If you have been thinking about big decisions like how you will divide your money after marriage, you should take a step back. This again can be too much to digest after sometime.

6. You have not had any fights

While it’s a good thing not to fight, petty arguments are healthy for a relationship. They make your bond stronger and more real.
