ISLAMABAD:
Drawing inspiration from the 16 days activism campaign 2019, several young artists participated in a three-day art exhibition held at Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA), Gallery 5.

Speaking on the occasion, MNA Shandana Gulzar said that the government recently began working on an anti-harassment policy.

Change does not come easily; gender-based violence was not only a prevalent problem in Pakistan but a major problem the world over, she added.

European Union (EU) representative Sven Reusch praised artwork created by young artists on the theme. Reusch said that the EU is ready to work with the government in their fight to end violence against women.

MNA Asiya Nasir congratulated the young artists for showcasing their work on gender-based issues.

The exhibition was organised in collaboration with Shirakat Gah, a non-governmental organisation working on safeguarding human rights and women’s rights in Pakistan.
