‘Black Widow’ teaser provides glimpse into Natasha Romanoff’s bloody past
The trailer for the much anticipated MCU film shows character reunite with old allies
Marvel Studios just released the trailer for the highly anticipated standalone film Black Widow with Scarlett Johansson reprising her role as Natasha Romanoff.
From the trailer the film can be said to deal with Romanoff coming to terms with her blood-ridden past. The character was last seen in Avengers: Endgame where she met her demise to secure the soul stone in a bid to destroy Thanos.

The film isn’t exactly a Black Widow prequel, taking place immediately after Captain America: Civil War and before Avengers: Infinity War, in the Marvel timeline. However the spin-off does seem to explore the life Natasha had before the events in the Marvel Cinematic Universe took place.
The trailer shows Natasha take a trip to Budapest, the place being a recurrent topic of banter between her and Clint Barton (Hawkeye) in other Avengers films. She is shown getting reacquainted with a Yelena Belova (The second Black Widow in the comics) played by Florence Pugh whom she refers to as ‘sister’.
Together they team up with Red Guardian and Melina Vostokoff played by David Harbour and Rachel Weisz respectively to take down an unknown threat. Among other things it also appears that S.H.E.I.L.D will play an important role in the film.
The film is set to release on May 1 2020.
