Man arrested for blackmailing girls

The accused would befriend girls, then edit their videos, pictures and blackmail them

DERA GHAZI KHAN: A man has been arrested for blackmailing girls through fake accounts on social media.

The accused used to trap girls on social media after befriending them and editing their videos and pictures. He then used those videos to extort money from the girls by harassing and threatening them.

Police Station Civil Lines found a pistol, mobile phones, two passports and ATM cards from culprit’s possession. The accused was wanted by the Dera Ghazi Khan police for two years. In this regard, SHO police station Civil Line Iftikhar Ahmad Malikani briefed reporters that the accused Shahzad Shah has been detained in Islamabad with the help of various social media investigations and CDR data.

The accused also used to post explicit pictures and inappropriate videos of girls on social media. A case was registered against him in 2017 for blackmailing. Police seized four mobile phones, two pistols, few ATM cards, and two passports from the possession of the accused. Moreover, thousands of objectionable videos and photos from his phones were also found by the police. The accused has lied to the media during his interaction and denied all the allegations.
