Monsoon season to start June 15
KARACHI:
The weather department has predicted monsoons starting June 15, said local bodies minister Agha Siraj Durrani, while directing the city government to prepare for the rains.
Meanwhile, several roads in Saddar, Manzoor Colony, Korangi Expressway and Sharae Faisal remain inundated with rainwater after the 100 millilitres of rainfall on June 5 and June 6.
Information technology minister Raza Haroon blamed the municipal services EDO Masood Alim for not taking sufficient measured to control the damage caused by the rains, adding that water had entered people’s homes in Defence Housing Authority (DHA) and Pakistan Employees Cooperative Housing Society (PECHS) as well as other parts of the city. All arrangements have been made to deal with the approaching monsoons, Alim assured Haroon.
