ISLAMABAD:
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has set a tax collection target of Rs110 billion for July and has so far bagged Rs45 billion, of which Rs22 billion has been paid in refund, says an FBR official.
This means that only Rs23 billion has been collected in the first 15 days of the month. According to the official, the Rs110 billion target was Rs38 billion more than the collection of Rs72 billion in the same month last year.
Refund cases worth Rs5 to Rs6 billion are still pending and FBR high-ups have asked the taxmen to evaluate and clear claims of Rs100 million after complaints were received in this regard. In July last year, Rs10 billion was paid in refund.
