Doctors examining former prime minister Nawaz Sharif in London have revealed that a vessel that carries blood to the brain is 80% blocked, Jang newspaper reported on its website quoting sources.

The report said Nawaz was undergoing several medical tests, since his arrival in London earlier this week. Quoting family sources, it said that a Swiss doctor had also examined the former prime minister at his residence.

Meanwhile, Nawaz's personal physician Dr Adnan Khan tweeted on Saturday that Dr David Lawrence, cardiothoracic Surgeon at University College Hospital examined the former premier, who had been “given a roadmap for cardiac investigations & subsequent treatment”.

Dr Lawrence performed the CABG (heart bypass surgery) on Nawaz in May 2016 and had clinically looked after ever since, the doctor said.

"Dr Lawrence in sync with haematologists at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospital, will manage” Nawaz, he added.
