Rs12.78b approved for six development schemes in Punjab

Meeting also approves up-gradation of DHQ Hospital Sahiwal into a teaching hospital

The Punjab government has approved six development projects worth Rs12.78 billion in Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) meeting on Thursday.

These projects were approved in the 26th meeting of the PDWP for current fiscal year 2019-20. The meeting was presided over by the Planning and Development Board (P&D) Chairman Habibur Rehman Gilani.

The approved development schemes include prime minister’s health initiative at the cost of Rs2.78 billion, provision of missing specialties for up-gradation of DHQ Hospital Sahiwal into Teaching Hospital, construction of PCC Slab, sewerage and water supply schemes, Rokhari, Ghundi, Dilley Wali and Mouch Tehsil Isa Khel, District Mianwali at the cost of Rs500 million, construction of Additional Ring Road Bahawalpur Railway Station to Bino Hospital via Bindra Pully-Dewan Pully-Sadar Pully-Kali length 10.5 kilometres, Bahawalpur (revised) at the cost of Rs1.162 billion, dualisation of road from Bahawalpur-Yazman Road to Chandni Chowk, length 37.06 kilometres, District Bahawalpur at the cost of Rs2.794 billion.


Another scheme of construction of new administration block on the premises of Lahore High Court, (discussion of design) was cleared in PDWP and also sent to CDWP for final approval.

P&D Secretary Imran Sikandar Blaoch, all members of the P&D Board, provincial secretaries of concerned departments, Assistant Chief Coordination Syed Naveed Iqbal, Planning Officer Coordination Muhammad Rashid and other senior representatives of the relevant provincial departments attended the meeting.
