Help desks set up to facilitate Sikh pilgrims

To provide security, help and guidance to both pilgrims and tourists

LAHORE: Punjab police have set up two help desks in order to facilitate Sikh pilgrims travelling to Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur in Narowal.

The initiative has been taken by the Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP). The help desks are meant to provide security, help and guidance to Sikh pilgrims and tourists.

At least 10 sub inspectors, 18 assistant sub inspectors, 21 head constables, 44 constables and others have been deputed under the supervision of a DSP. Two vehicles and four motorcycles will be on patrol from the border to the gurdwara to help and guide pilgrims.

The officials have also been provided modern vehicles and motorcycles for patrolling purposes. One help desk has been set up at the Indian border while the other has been set up on the Pakistani side.
