Jamshed Dasti reprimanded for anti-PPP statements
President Zardari takes notice of Dasti's statements against the party leadership, particularly against PM Gilani.
ISLAMABAD:
President Asif Ali Zardari has taken notice of MNA Jamshed Dasti's statements against Pakistan People's Party (PPP) leadership and has summoned him in Islamabad on Friday.
Dasti had given statements against the party leadership, in particularly against Prime Minister Gilani.
In an earlier report, Dasti told The Express Tribune that he had reservations over the ‘prime minister’s personal bureaucracy who is answerable to no one’.
The co-chairman of PPP took strict notice of Dasti's criticism and has directed political secretary Rukhsana Bangash to investigate the matter and present a report in 48 hours.
Earlier in June, Dasti had resigned from the National Assembly in protest over government inaction to repair dykes and embankments in his constituency, stating that he had made this decision due to the Punjab government’s negligence in not securing the embankments and dykes of Taliri canal in Muzaffargarh.
