Four FC personnel were killed in Kohlu district on Friday.
At least four personnel of the Frontier Corps (FC) were killed and many others were injured in a heavy battle with suspected Baloch militants in the Chamalang area of Kholu district in the early hours of Friday.
Sources said a group of armed men ambushed a FC convoy engaged in routine patrolling and opened indiscriminate fire on them, killing four personnel instantly. The exchange of fire which lasted till noon on Friday also left eight militants dead, said the FC spokesperson.
Banned militant organisation Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the attack. Calling from an unspecified location, a BLA spokesperson, who introduced himself Azad Baloch, claimed that security forces had launched a search operation in the Gujjar area of Chamalang during which they killed two children and a woman. Security forces have refuted the claim.
