Sarfraz Shah case: Eye witnesses record statements in ATC

Gardner at Benazir Park says he heard firing and reached scene to find body of Shah surrounded by rangers.

KARACHI: Hearing of Sarfraz Shah case is underway in the anti-terrorism court, whereas, statements of two eye witnesses of the incident have been recorded, Express News reported Friday.

One of the witnesses, Ramzan, a gardener at Benazir Park where the incident took place, said that on June 8 he heard the firing and reached the scene to find a blood-bathed body of Shah surrounded by rangers.

He further said that none of the onlookers said that he was caught doing robbery.

DIG Sindh Sultan Khwaja, the investigating officer of the case, did not appear in the court for hearing.

In his absence, the court had summoned IG Sindh to appear for the hearing.

Khwaja, however, appeared in the court some time later.

Sarfraz Shah, 19, was shot in the Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Park on June 8. The incident was caught on videotape and broadcast on television channels nationwide.
