Smuggled goods: Police seize a truck with USC sugar

MATLI: The police seized a truck loaded with 13,500 kilogrammes of sugar which was being smuggled from the Utility Stores Corporation. The sugar was being smuggled to a private dealer in Hyderabad by Nasrullah Talpur, a salesman from Utility Store No. 3. Talpur, was arrested by the police and quickly confessed to the crime. According to the police, Talpur claimed that he was working under orders from the store’s area manager and as part of their deal, Talpur received Rs10 per 50kg. The police raided the warehouse behind the utility store where sugar was being taken out from the store’s packaging. An investigation is being conducted by the police.
