The Law ministry issued a formal notification of the resignation, which stated that Deputy Chairman NAB Javed Zia Qazi will take over as chairman NAB till further orders.
The government had asked Ahsan to quit after he had allegedly sent secret reports to the Supreme Court in the Bank of Punjab scam case.
