SARGODHA:
“The shopkeepers and traders were exploiting the general public through artificial inflation, said Provincial Minister for Human Resources and Development Ansar Majeed Niazi.

He stated this while addressing a review meeting of performance of price control magistrates at Commissioner House on Thursday. The provincial minister directed the divisional administration that non-discriminatory action should be taken against black marketeers and profiteers.

He added that artificial inflation, short measurement, adulteration, stock, sale of unhygienic edibles and the sale of expired medicines will not be tolerated at any cost. He also directed price control magistrates to ensure strict monitoring of the process of auction at fruit and vegetable markets on a daily basis.

He further directed the administration to keep an eye on the supply and demand of commodities in general markets whereas implementation should also be made sure on fixed prices at utilities stores on a monthly basis.

“Rate lists should be displayed at all shops in bazaars, markets and shopping plazas for creating awareness among the consumers.”
