Tribal conflicts hindering progress: Langove
Provincial minister calls for fostering brotherhood
QUETTA:
Balochistan Minister for Home and Tribal Affairs Mir Ziaullah Langove on Friday said tribal conflicts are a major hindrance in the development of the province. He was speaking with the leaders of Mengal and Sanari tribes.
“We all can live in peace together if we reconcile. Harmony between different ethnicities is the need of the hour and can help foster brotherhood in the province,” Langove said.
Laying stress on unity among all the tribes and communities, the provincial minister said the people of Balochistan are loving and peaceful. Provincial ministers Asadullah Baloch, Nawabzada Haji Lashkari Raisani and tribal elders were also present on the occasion.
Langove also spoke on the Kashmir issue and underscored that the people of Pakistan will continue showing their political, diplomatic and moral support to the Kashmiri brothers.
Peace committees to tackle inter-tribal feuds
“India is violating all the UN resolutions related to Kashmir. We would like to make it clear that the current status of the occupied valley will never be accepted,” he said.
“We were with Kashmiris yesterday and we are with them today. Any attempt to suppress their right to self-determination would be thwarted.”
Langove demanded that the right to self-determination must be given to the people of Kashmir. “The sacrifices of millions of Kashmiris will not go in vain,” he said.
Earlier, the provincial minister said hostile forces are trying to jeopardise the country’s development by creating unrest in the province.
Chairing a meeting in Quetta on the law and order situation last Saturday, the minister said a peaceful Balochistan guaranteed the development of the country and that was why hostile countries were attempting to fuel uncertainty in the province.
Langove vowed that the elements hatching such conspiracies would not be allowed to succeed.
“The government has been taking measures to maintain peace in Balochistan and secure the lives and properties of the citizens,” he said.
Bad blood: In Sindh, some minors are involved in major tribal clashes
The minister said because of the government’s effective steps to improve the law and order situation, major local and foreign investors are coming to Balochistan, paving the way for the province’s economic growth.
Speaking on the development schemes in Balochistan, Langove said the government would ensure the provision of basic facilities to the people. He directed the authorities concerned to beef up the security of development projects in Kalat and Khaliqabad.
He said the government has a master plan for the development of Kalat and Khaliqabad. “A housing society will be approved for the expansion of Khaliqabad.”
Earlier this year, the Balochistan government announced Rs126 billion for 2,461 new and ongoing development schemes under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).
