Politics: ‘Top criminal’ alleges victimisation

Government asked how names are picked for Top Ten list.

The Lahore High Court on Wednesday sought reply from the Punjab government for September 13 on a petition by Asrarul Haq Butt, vice president of the People’s Youth Organisation Lahore, challenging inclusion of his name in the list of top 10 criminals in the province.


The court asked the Punjab government to identify the law and procedure under which the list was prepared.   He requested the court direct the government to delete his name from the list.


A family court judge has again summoned the husband of a woman seeking dissolution of marriage after he refused to let her keep her son from her first marriage.

Nabila Bashir, 28, said that she had married Muhammad Rafique, 66, in 2009 after her first marriage, with Ashfaq, ended in a divorce.

She said that she had a son, Ammar, 7, from her first marriage.

She said Rafique had agreed to his son’s living with them but later he refused. She said she then left his house.
