RAWALPINDI/ ISLAMABAD: The federal police have concluded the security and traffic plan for Azadi March of Jamaiat-e-Ulema-Fazl (JUI-F) which is expected to reach Islamabad on Thursday.
The police have concluded security arrangements on all designated roads leading to protest venue in Sector H-9.
It has been learnt that more than 10,000 security personnel would be deployed on the security of the venue and its surroundings.
Islamabad Chief Commissioner Aamir Ali Ahmed and Inspector General Police Amir Zulfiqar Khan visited the protest site and also met with the organisers.
Security for Azadi March reviewed
Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) volunteers have started making preparation at the venue in Sector H-9. They were seen pitching tents and placing chairs. Arrangements for building the main stage were also underway.
The Azadi march participants coming from Lahore via Motorway would be given a clear road until Peshawar Mor on Kashmir Highway to reach the demonstration venue. Similarly, the convoys heading to Islamabad from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) through GT Road would be diverted to Kashmir Highway from Motorway Chowk to the jalsa ground.
The marchers using G-T Road route from Punjab would be directed towards Kashmir Highway from Rawat T-Chowk while the protesters from Murree would be diverted to the same location from Faizabad and IJP Road.
Protest organisers have been told that convoys would not be allowed to enter Faizabad or Zero Point via Kashmir Highway whereas staging a protest at any other spot than the venue was not allowed.

More than 4,000 personnel of Rawalpindi police along with three companies of rangers will perform duties while the marchers would cross the garrison town.

Apart from it, above 2500 personnel of Punjab police, highway police, elite force and others would assist Rawalpindi police in duties.
The district administration and Rawalpindi police have established two separate control rooms to monitor overall security conditions during the march while the central control room has been set up at Parade ground.
Meanwhile, the Azadi march is expected to reach Rawalpindi in early hours of Thursday where it will stay on GT Road between Rawat and Gujjar Khan.
