The inaugural exhibition at the newly established 'ArtOne62' gallery in Clifton, - a collaboration between Australia-based GalleryOne62 and ArtKaam Gallery in Pakistan - was held on Tuesday.

The exhibition, titled 'Impact II', was curated by Pakistani artist Shehzar Abro and Colombian artist Andres Delgado and featured numerous artists from Pakistan, Australia, Colombia, the United States of America and Canada. The artists' works comprised the use of new and traditional media and also included installations.

It was for the second time that 'Impact II' was brought to Karachi, through the joint efforts of ArtKaam Gallery and GalleryOne62, as a preceding session of the sequential exhibition was held at Movenpick Hotel in the city three years ago. Back then, 17 artists from Karachi were featured at the exhibition.

Speaking about the venture, Abro said, "I see myself inspired by things that may otherwise be easily ignored- the texture of a rock, a conversation with a stranger, or a nice meal. It's all an experience that makes me a little different from yesterday. [Similarly,] this exhibition is an experience created by the visual artists." The art pieces will shape the spectators' minds, distort their perceptions and will subconsciously impact them in different ways, he added.

Abro remarked that it is an exciting time for the art scene in Pakistan, particularly referring to the Karachi Biennale 2019 being held in the city.
