‘Renewable energy way forward’
At least 8,000 schools will be converted to solar energy by the end of this year
Punjab Energy Minister Dr Akhtar Malik said that renewable energy is a viable way to meet electricity demands and combat climate change.
He expressed these views while speaking at a one-day international conference on renewable energy organised by the Department of Energy System Engineering at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF). The government was making all-out efforts to promote renewable energy. “The Punjab government was converting 15,000 schools to solar energy. At least 8,000 schools will be converted by the end of this year,” he added.
