2,140 diagnosed with hepatitis in Multan
After a five-day hepatitis screening camp ended
MULTAN:
The five-day hepatitis screening camp in Multan district ended on Saturday. According to the health department, around 2,140 people were diagnosed with hepatitis.
Reportedly, 8,560 people were tested during the five-day screening that took place in the district. Around 1,934 people tested positive for hepatitis C while 206 people tested positive for hepatitis B. The number showed that 3,435 people were tested at District Headquarter Hospital Shehbaz Sharif Hospital, Multan out of which 277 tested positive for hepatitis C and 56 tested positive for hepatitis B. Further, 2,837 people were screened at Tehsil Headquarter Hospital, Shujabad while 1,235 tested positive for hepatitis C and 113 tested positive for hepatitis B, 2,288 were screened at Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Jalalpur Pirwala while 422 and 37 tested positive for hep C and hep B.
