ISLAMABAD:
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Wednesday moved the Islamabad High Court against a decision of the anti-electronic crimes court which disallowed the shifting of the judge’s video scandal case to an anti-terrorism court (ATC).

In its petition – which named eight suspects that the agency was investigating over the video of former accountability court judge Arshad Malik – the FIA has requested the IHC to suspend the verdict given by anti-electronic crimes court.

During the course of investigation, charges under Anti-Terrorism Act were included in the FIR on October 6 after which the case could be heard only by the ATC court but on October 21 the anti-electronic crimes court had declined to shift the case to ATC.

It said that anti-electronic crimes court had ordered for the presentation of the final challan. The decision of the trial court and its orders for presentation of the interim challan should be suspended so that the matter could be presented to the court concerned, the FIA pleaded.
