Police say infamous Ladi gang has become active once again in DG Khan

DERA GHAZI KHAN: Four policemen sustained bullet injuries after members of Ladi gang, which operates within the limits of Kot Mubarak police station, opened fire at a police van late Tuesday night.

According to the police, the gang has become active once again. They added that gang members opened fire at the policemen, who were carrying out a raid to arrest them.

The injured policemen were shifted to Dera Ghazi Khan Teaching Hospital. A search operation is underway to arrest the suspects.

Four policemen, identified as Jamshed Ali, Sanaullah, Ghulam Abbas and Muhammad Majid, suffered bullet injuries during the encounter.

After receiving information about the encounter, Rangers also reached the scene and carried out a search operation.

The injured were shifted to the district hospital, where health officials imposed a medical emergency to provide them with proper medical treatment. According to doctors, the condition of policemen is stated to be stable.

Dera Ghazi Khan Teaching Hospital Media Coordinator Dr Khalid Tehseen said that the rescue operation was personally overseen by the hospital’s medical superintendent Shahid Hussain Magsi while several surgeons and paramedics ensured first aid for the injured.

Sources said that the standoff was still being carried out. The police had conducted a number of operations in the area earlier but failed to arrest members of Ladi gang. On the contrary, the policemen suffered injuries.

There is an imminent wave of fear among the residents and they have demanded of the Punjab IG, RPO and DPO to ensure support for the injured policemen and take effective measures to deal with the criminals.

An FIR has been lodged against Ladi gang at the Border Military police station, Kashoba.
