Tough Consequences: Ambulances deprived of gas
The foundation operates approximately 1,800 ambulances across the country, 250 of them in Karachi

Abdul Sattar Edhi, the founder of the Edhi Foundation, has urged the government to exempt rescue ambulances from any closure of CNG filling stations. The two-day gas supply suspension kept ambulances off the roads causing trouble for patients. The foundation operates approximately 1,800 ambulances across the country, 250 of them in Karachi, says Anwar Kazmi, spokesman for the Edhi Foundation. The ambulances run twenty-four hours daily. If the CNG supply is halted for 48 hours a week, it becomes impossible for us to run timely operations, he said.
