The Airport police subsequently registered a case against unidentified kidnappers and murderers of the boy. They collected evidence from the site and started a probe into the matter.

Five days after the missing boy’s body was discovered, police claimed to have arrested five suspects whom they believe were involved in the incident.

Potohar SP Syed Ali said that they have arrested Anjum Ashfaq, Imran, Naveed, Mir Zaman and his son Abdul Razzaq.

Talking about the suspects, the SP said Ashfaq has a criminal record of molesting minors. Other suspects included Imran, who hails from Sargodha, and Naveed — who worked as a watchman — were arrested for their history of immoral activities.

The two other suspects, including Mir Zaman and Razzaq, ran a dairy farm, the official said, adding that they had obtained evidence with regards to their involvement.
