
SSP Chaudhry Aslam Khan said that a TTP commander from the Swat chapter, Ali Imran, was arrested from Ittehad Town. The accused confessed to attacking army check posts and schools in Swat. Meanwhile, Sohail Abro and Sirajuddin were arrested from Khadda Market, Lyari. They have been involved in over six cases. Eight kilogrammes of hashish and weapons were seized from them. On the other hand, Jeay Sindh Tehreek (JST) chairman Dr Safdar Sarki claimed that Sirajuddin’s real name is Zubair and that both the men are JST leaders. He said they were abducted by Lyari gangsters and that they even held several protests in Upper Sindh on Monday and Tuesday.
Mohammad Nabi, Nadeem, Chand and Asif were arrested in a raid in Mauripur. They were wanted for robberies, kidnapping and police encounters. Munir, Shahid and Sabir were apprehended by the Special Investigation Unit in a raid in the Federal B Industrial area. They directed the police to a godown in Manghopir where they had stashed automobile oil, meant to be sent to Afghanistan for Nato. The last of the arrests, Ahmed and Sona Khan, were made there.
