Malaysian businessmen keen to invest in Pakistan

Malaysian High Commissioner Ikram Muhammad Ibrahim hosted a reception to celebrate Malaysia’s 62nd National Day

Malaysian High Commissioner Ikram Muhammad Ibrahim has stated that businessmen in his country are keen to explore investment avenues in Pakistan.

He said this as he hosted a reception to celebrate Malaysia’s 62nd National Day. Federal Minister for Planning Khusro Bakhtiar was the chief guest while ambassadors of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries and members of the diplomatic corps attended the reception. A large number of Pakistanis including members of civil society and the business community were also present on the occasion.


Bakhtiar said that Pakistan and Malaysia enjoy excellent relations. He added that this relationship was growing with each passing day and hoped that these ties will further be strengthened in the days to come. He also highlighted the role of various Malaysian companies in bringing both countries closer.

The minister also praised the leadership of Malaysian Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Muhammad and talked about the positive trajectory between him and Prime Minister Imran Khan.
