Government arm twisting KESC into selling cheap: Farooq Sattar
Sattar said that the government had hatched a plot of pressuring the KESC by disrupting gas supply to generators.

MQM Rabita committee deputy convener, Farooq Sattar on Tuesday alleged that elements wihtin the government had deliberately hindered gas supply to KESC turbines in a pressure tactic on the electricity company.
While issuing a plea to the Chief Justice to look into the gas supply interruptions, Sattar said that there were elements within the ruling government who wanted to forcibly procure the utility.
In a hand out statement released by the MQM, Sattar said that the government had failed to coerce the KESC into selling at cheap rates, and hence was using tactics such as interrupting the gas supply to build pressure on the owners.
Sattar said that as a result of the gas supply disruption, loadshedding has increased in Karachi causing difficulty for the citizen. He said that many areas in the city were without power for days.
He warned that the government planned to use the continued failure of the KESC to supply power to the citizens of Karachi as an excuse to for the KESC owners into selling.
