Football: Barca boy Ceballos joins Tottenham
The 18-year-old trained with Chelsea in March and then had a trial with London rivals Tottenham.
LONDON:
Tottenham Hotspur have signed former Barcelona teenager Cristian Ceballos. Ceballos had been on the European champions’ books since he was a schoolboy but has not made the progress the Spanish giants would have liked and was released from his contract last season. However, the 18-year-old trained with Chelsea in March and then had a trial with London rivals Tottenham towards the end of last term where he impressed the Spurs’ management. Ceballos, who can play as an attacking midfielder or forward, will now go into the club’s development squad.
