Football: Chelsea table second Modric bid
Chelsea have tabled a second bid of £27 million for Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric.
LONDON:
Chelsea have tabled a second bid of £27 million for Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric. The new bid, £5 million higher, is still unlikely to persuade Spurs to sell. The club have decided to step up their pursuit after Modric hit out at Tottenham Chairman Daniel Levy and reiterated his desire to leave the club. According to reports, Manchester City and Manchester United could also enter the bidding war, as Samir Nasri’s agent has announced that the player will stay at Arsenal, which could see both clubs focus their attentions on Modric.
