Eight killed as van plunges into ravine
Locals pulled the dead and injured from the wreckage

At least eight people were killed while 10 others were injured when a passenger van plunged into a deep roadside ravine in Chitral on Wednesday, local district administration told The Express Tribune over the phone.
Local police said that the passenger van was travelling towards Tirch when the driver lost control of the wheels of the vehicle near the Ragh Lasht area and fell into a deep ditch. As a result, at least eight passengers lost their lives and 10 others were injured.
Locals pulled the dead and injured from the wreckage and shifted them to the Chitral District Headquarters Hospital. The hospital’s medical superintendent said that some of the injured were in serious condition.
The MS of the hospital added that Initially only six bodies were brought while two others succumbed to their injuries while receiving treatment.
The deceased were identified as Muhammad Younus, Ali Muhammad, Sohail Mirza, Sarfaraz Lal, Rehmat Hussain, Umar, Farman Ali Khan and Fazal Ali. The injured were identified as Sibghatullah, Adnan, Mir Hakim Khan, Taj Muhammad, Muhammad Ibrahim, Jan Muhammad, Sajjadur Rehman, Nighat Khatoon, Junaid Rehman and Masud Anwar.
