KARACHI:
A man shot his brother and nephew over a property dispute in New Sabzi Mandi on Tuesday. As a result, Muhammad Zali, 50, died on the spot and his son, Muhammad Idrees, 25, sustained bullet wounds. A passer-by was also injured in the firing.

The injured and the deceased were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where Idrees too died during the course of treatment. Meanwhile, 40-year-old Shair Ali, who was passing by when the incident took place and was accidentally injured, survived his injuries. Malir SSP Syed Ali Raza has said that the accused, who is Zali's brother, Dr Zahir, fled the scene. He said that that Dr Zahir had a dispute with his brother over a shop, which he had inherited from his father. The dispute had lasted for years, he said, adding that the issue was also referred to a jirga but couldn't be resolved even after several sittings of the jirga.

According to SSP Raza, two bullet shells of a 9mm pistol were found at the crime scene, both of which have been sent for forensic analysis.
