Chairlift to be installed at Kidney Hill Park
Mayor Akhtar said that the park will soon be opened for public after KMC completes its restoration

Karachi Mayor Wasim Akhtar announced the installation of a chairlift at Kidney Hill Park, while addressing a ceremony in the park's ground on Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the citizens of Karachi had lost access to the recreational facility of chairlift since the closure of one at Safari Park and they had to travel all the way to Murree or Islamabad to enjoy the experience. Now, Karachiites will be able to enjoy chairlift rides in their own city, he added. Mayor Akhtar said that the park will soon be opened for public, after Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) completes its restoration, which also includes the plantation of 5,000 trees. Further elaborating on the progress of Kidney Hill Park's renovation, he said that KMC has removed all illegal structures from about 30% area of the park. The mayor appreciated the efforts of Karachi Metropolitan Commissioner Dr Saifur Rehman for the park's renovation. Retired vice admiral Arifullah Husaini, members of Sindh Assembly, councillors, district chairman, traders and others were also present on the occasion.
