PDWP approves schemes worth Rs16.7 billion in Lahore

Approved projects include dualisation of multiple roads in different districts

LAHORE:
The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) has approved 11 development schemes, of roads and regional planning sectors, at an estimated cost of Rs16.72 billion.

The schemes were approved during the 17th meeting of PDWP, presided over by Planning and Development Board Chairman Habibur Rehman Gilani, for current fiscal year 2019-20.


All the members of the Planning and Development Board, provincial secretaries of departments concerned, Assistant Chief Coordination Syed Naveed Iqbal and other senior representatives of provincial departments attended the meeting.

The approved development schemes include dualisation of the 12.83kilometre-long Dina-Mangla Road, Jhelum district at a cost of Rs1.3 billion, dualisation of the 32.81km-long Sargodha-Mianwali Road (Phase-I), Mianwali district at a cost of Rs6.6 billion, dualisation of the 25.25km-long Muzaffargarh Road, Khushab district at a cost of Rs2.2 billion, construction of an 18km-long road from Dhulla to Mangwal, Chakwal district, at a cost of Rs884 million, improvement of the 27.5km-long road from Kotla Haji Shah to Laskani Wala via Basti Shado Khan, Layyah district at a cost of Rs626 million, dualisation of the 6km-long metalled road from Sher Shah Bypass (N-70) to M-4 Motorway along Sikandarabad distributory, Multan district at a cost of Rs598 million, dualisation and improvement of the 21km-long Multan-Matital Road, (Phase-I), Multan district at a cost of Rs958 million, improvement of roads in Rahim Yar Khan at a cost of Rs500 million, construction of a 14.17km-long link Road from GT Road to Sialkot-Lahore Motorway Eminabad to Lahore-Sialkot Motorway, Gujranwala district at a cost of Rs712 million, dualisation of the 27.35km-long Sialkot-Pasrur Road, (Phase-I), Sialkot district at a cost of Rs1.9 billion and third party validation of Rural Accessibility Programme (RAP) Naya Pakistan-Manzilen Asan (PC-II) at a cost of Rs226 million.
