Verdict reserved on transferring video leak case to ATC
FIA prosecutor argued that according to the law the case could be transferred to ATC

ISLAMABAD:
A cyber crime court has reserved its verdict on a petition requesting transfer of the video leak case involving former accountability court judge Arshad Malik to an anti-terrorism court (ATC).
Judge Tahir Masood heard the case.
During the proceeding, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) prosecutor argued that according to the law the case could be transferred to an ATC. However, the counsel objected to transferring the case to the ATC.
After hearing both the sides, the court reserved its verdict.
It is pertinent to mention that Malik had convicted former prime minister Nawaz Sharif in the Al-Azizia corruption case in December 2018. In July 2019, Maryam Nawaz, daughter of the former premier, held a press conference where she aired a video in which Malik allegedly confessed to a Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz supporter that he had been pressured into convicting Nawaz.
Malik denied the claims, but was repatriated to the Lahore High Court.
