Buried Alive: Labourer dies, 4 injured as earth caves in

The 23-year-old Muhammad Amir lost his life after the well caved while he was 50 feet deep in the land

A labourer on Monday evening died in a village while digging a well. The land caved in and the worker was buried alive, rescue officials said.


The 23-year-old Muhammad Amir lost his life after the well caved while he was 50 feet deep in the land at the village of Jhamra some 18 kilometers from Adiala Road.


Four other labourers got injured and were saved by the locals and the rescuers of 1122 as they tried to help Amir.

Amir was a father of two children and was employed to dig the well with other men where he was buried under the mud. The deceased was a resident of Adiala village.

After toiling for two hours, the rescuers succeeded in retrieving the body of the deceased as more land slides were witnessed during the rescue efforts.
