PPP leader Taj Haider’s house robbed third time in as many months

All three incidents of robberies took place on the 9th day of each month

KARACHI: Unidentified robbers broke into the house of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Taj Haider and looted cash, jewellery and other valuables on Wednesday. This was the third time that Haider's house has been targeted in the last three months. The alarming thing is that every robbery has been carried out on the 9th day of each month.

According to Haider, when he got back to his apartment, No. 202, Plot C9, 10th Commercial Street, DHA Phase IV, on Wednesday night after attending the PPP's core committee meeting, he noticed that the bolt of the main gate was broken and the padlock was cut.

When he entered the apartment, said Haider, he saw that everything was scattered, all the cupboards were wide open, and the content strewn across the floor.

He said that his house has been robbed twice before and this was the third theft in the last three months. All three incidents took place on the 9th day of each month, he said, adding that the thieves entered the apartment by breaking the locks and took cash, jewellery and other valuables with them.

Two robbers caught by locals

Gizri Police have registered a case, no. 460/2019, on behalf of Taj Haider against unidentified persons. The accused involved in the previous incident of robberies have not been apprehended yet.
