Four more dengue cases confirmed in Quetta

At least 3,000 people in Balochistan have been affected by the mosquito-borne disease so far

QUETTA: Four patients belonging to Quetta’s Spinny area have been diagnosed with dengue virus and were admitted to Fatima Jinnah General Hospital.

All victims of the dengue fever hail from the same family, a hospital representative informed.  The patients travelled from Karachi to Quetta and caught the virus there, he added.

Earlier, five patients, belonging from Satellite Town and Aghbarg area, were admitted to Quetta’s Fatima Jinnah hospital with similar condition. All the affected dengue patients have contracted the virus from other areas, officials told.

At least 3,000 people in Balochistan have been affected by the mosquito-borne disease so far and three patients have died due to the outbreak, officials confirmed.
