CM Mahmood expresses ire over delay in development projects
Solarization of schools, BHUs, mosques and other public places in tribal districts yet to start

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has expressed concern over delay in initiating and implementation of developmental projects in the newly merged tribal districts intimating that creation of posts and hiring process for provision of basic services should be completed on emergency basis.
According to an official statement, he clarified that the lethargic and inefficient system previously in practice in the tribal districts will no longer be tolerated whereas strict surveillance and monitoring of all ongoing and new developmental schemes should be undertaken to ensure efficient utilization of resources along with timely completion of projects.
While chairing a meeting regarding the 10 years ADP plan for the tribal districts, the Chief Minister expressed dissatisfaction for delay in solarization of schools, BHUs, Mosques and other public places in the tribal districts and directed formulation of committee under the chairmanship of Minister Finance Taimur Salim Jhagra which will be responsible for formulation of strategy for the speedy completion of developmental schemes.
The committee will also consist of members from Irrigation, Agriculture, Home, Energy & Power and other relevant departments.
The Chief Minister was briefed in detail regarding the ADP 2019-20 for the Tribal Districts and was informed that the total ADP for the ongoing year is 103.03 billion out of which the total finances of the local components amount to Rs. 24 billion, foreign assistance to Rs.20.03 billion and the tribal decade strategy components which amount to Rs.59 billion.
The Chief Minster was informed that out the Rs.59 billion Tribal Decade strategy components, Rs. 48 billion will be provided by the Federal Government whereas the Rs.11 billion will be provided by the Provincial Government.
The meeting was also briefed regarding the ongoing and new developmental schemes in the tribal districts which include 844 ongoing schemes and 134 new developmental schemes.
The total estimated costs of the mentioned schemes amounts to Rs.124.42 billion out of which Rs.99.77 billion have been allocated for the completion of ongoing schemes whereas Rs.24.62 billion have been allocated for new developmental schemes.
The Chief Minister was informed that sector wise allocation of resources has been introduced in the ADP for tribal districts which include 85% funds allocation for ongoing schemes in which 274 ongoing schemes have been targeted for completion during ongoing year.
The meeting was informed that Rs.2 billion Special Package has also been included for different projects for North and South Waziristan.
The Chief Minister reiterated that the development of tribal districts will be ensured on priority basis further directing the districts administration to conduct Khuli Kachehries periodically and increase their communication with public so as to resolve the issues of public at grass root level.
The meeting was also attended by Minister Information Shaukat Yousfzai, Minister Finance Taimur Salim Jhagra, Advisor to Chief Minister of merged districts Ajmal Wazir, Chief Secretary Salim Khan, Additional Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary to CM Shahab Ali Shah, Secretary Law, Secretary Elementary & Secondary Education, Secretary Health, Secretary Finance, Secretary Irrigation, Secretary Public Health Engineering and Deputy Commissioner from all the newly merged tribal districts.
